Journal de Daniel Messervy 1769 - 1772

This is an important primary source for the riot and near rebellion in Jersey in 1769, and its aftermath. It covers the period September 1769 – July 1772 and the appendix contains transcriptions of official documents. Messervy (1721-1775) was a Jurat of the Royal Court from 1754-1770 and, as such, was close to the event that he describes. An article about these events, by A. C.
