Back to St Helier Maps and plans

1810 Jersey Magazine

This is an enlarged photocopy of a plan reproduced in the Jersey Magazine, October 1810, where the original can be found. It extends from Gloucester Place to the west, Elizabeth Place to the north, St Saviour's Road to the east and Colomberie to the south. There is an accompanying key (on the rear of the photocopy) which identifies buildings and grounds as they were in 1794, and what has been developed since that time. The map is distorted and dimensionally inaccurate, but is a unique record of development in this period. This copy has notes added to show street names, building names and other details. The author is possibly H. Simon, but the date is unknown.
