Ancient Petitions of the Chancery and the Exchequer

"Ancient Petitions of the Chancery and the Exchequer" contains extracts from these sources, now held at the National Archives in London, which relate to the Channel Islands. They cover the 13th to 15th centuries and contain petitions addressed from the Islands to the King, Privy Council and other officials on a wide variety of subjects. They give much incidental information about Jersey in the late medieval period, as well as sometimes addressing subjects of fundamental importance in the history of the islands.
