Roger Long: First time in Jersey and meeting Margaret

This recording is an excerpt from an interview with Société Jersiaise Honorary Member Roger Long, conducted by John Pinel at Roger’s home based in St. John on 6th March 2025. A total of six interviews were carried out over a four-month period, beginning on 6th March and concluding on 23rd July 2025. This recording forms part of The Société Jersiaise Photographic Archive Collection and accompanies a series of photographs featuring the project, all taken by Max Le Feuvre.
Roger, together with his partner Margaret, have been prominent members of the Société Jersiaise, with Roger being Société president between 1992 - 1995. Between 1970 and 2010, they compiled a remarkable collection of over 30,000 colour slides, covering subjects such as entomology, botany, and geology, with images captured from their travels featuring locations across the globe.
